Last Thursday, brothers Erich Boileau and Vince Boileau had the privilege of attending the Community Foundation of Holland/Zeeland Area’s (CFHZ) Scholarship Donor/Recipient Meet & Greet to meet this year’s recipient of the Randy Boileau Storyteller Scholarship.
Kayden Harmon is a graduating senior who will be pursuing her passion for storytelling as she begins studying film and video at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) this fall.
This is the second year Boileau & Co. has partnered with CFHZ to award this scholarship to young creatives in our community. Last year, the scholarship was awarded to Sidney Hogan. Like Kayden, she went on to study film and video at GVSU.
The Storyteller Scholarship recognizes the vision of Boileau & Co’s founder, Randy Boileau. His goal from the beginning was to use his platform to create understanding through storytelling. As he shares it, “storytelling can bring people and communities together to accomplish great things.” He hopes this scholarship will open up new opportunities for the next generation of storytellers.
Qualifying recipients of the Randy Boileau Storytelling Scholarship include graduating seniors that intend on attending GVSU, Hope College, Calvin College, or Ferris to pursue a major in marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, video production, graphic design or a related communications field.
If you know an incoming senior that is interested in communications, be sure to share our story with them and encourage them to apply next year on CFHZ’s website.
Congratulations Kayden on this scholarship! We wish you the best of luck on your journey at Grand Valley. Your best stories are yet to come.
