May 17th, 2023 saw the West Michigan community collaborate to make a difference through service to a wide variety of local nonprofit organizations. Celebrating its 4th anniversary, the event, coordinated by our friends at the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce, witnessed a dramatic increase in participation from last year, from 250 to almost 1000. This wave of service-minded individuals and organizations provided support to dozens of community partners.
All 15 members of the Boileau & Co. team, joined by some friends and family members, helped out by visiting Camp Geneva and dividing and conquering a number of tasks such as window washing, weeding, chair cleaning, and folding (1500 t-shirts were folded in anticipation of this year’s 4500 campers). It was a great way to give back to the community, working together to make a difference.
Leanne Schaeffer, one of the partners at Boileau & Co. and seen working the window squeegee above, stated “Giving back to the community is an important part of who we are at Boileau. Our team loves to volunteer throughout the year, but Community Impact Day was special, because we had the opportunity to come alongside over 950 other community members in making our community a better place to live and play.”
Camp Geneva is a Christian camp and retreat facility on the shore of Lake Michigan celebrating its 75th anniversary. The organization hosts camps, community events and worship throughout the year.
