Announcing the Randy Boileau Storyteller Scholarship
Starting in 2023, Boileau & Co. will be looking for graduating seniors headed to Grand Valley State University to learn about storytelling. For the scholarship, we’re partnering with the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area (CFHZ) to award a scholarship to a college-bound senior to study marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, video production, graphic design or a related communications field. We plan to start with a single $3,000 scholarship for the first year and expand the award to more students as our company continues to grow.
Background
From its inception, Boileau & Co. has strived to create understanding through storytelling. Randy Boileau started the company in 2005 with the belief that storytelling can bring people and communities together to accomplish great things. This scholarship was created to honor this belief by encouraging more participation in the communications fields.
“It is a rare honor to have my name associated with something so worthy. Some storytellers are born and others are made. But all storytellers—and the communities they serve—are made better by opportunities for education,” said Randy Boileau when he heard about the fund. “Now if we can just find candidates who can pronounce my last name correctly the honor will be complete!”
How to Apply
If you know (or are) a graduating high-school senior planning to study one of the covered fields at GVSU, please contact your school guidance counselor or apply directly through the community foundation.
